are you looking foward to it?
who will win
Good luck to all the teams. I wish Greece was playing but after they got the euro 2004 they didn't play well so they are not in this worldcap. I don't know which country i am going to support but i usualy like surprises. Countries that nobody is expecting them to go well but they do. It's good to see something different than always the same teams winning.
Daniel, of course I look forward to it!!! It is in my country, and even though every commercial is full of it and some people are annoyed about it already, I still can't wait till it starts.
Well, I have already stated this else where on the boards but I'll say it again, my heart says England for the World cup, my head though says Argentina.
Host nations quite often do well at these tournaments too so Germany may well do better than many are expecting. I don't believe they're good enough to win it this time out but they can still have a good showing without actually winning.
This year it just seems there isn't one extremely dominant team, a lot of the better teams all have some weaknesses. Argentina definitely has a shot and while I don't expect much from Italy, they were very impressive against Germany. I'm with you Harp, I'll be cheering for England too, but Rooney's not going to be back and so there are definite concerns about their problems up top.
I'm not making any predictions, just waiting for it to start, only 5 days remain until kick off, I'm getting really excited! The group stages are going to have some classic matches, it's going to be awesome.
I'm particularly interested to see how some of the African sides do in this tournament. They're certainly putting in some good showings in there warm up matches. Ivory Coast gave Slovenia a pretty good 3-0 thumping and perhaps even more eye catching was Ghana's 3 nil win over South Korea who after all were world cup semi finalists 4 years ago.
I definitely have to second your call though Chenc, I just can't wait for it all to start. Sadly I will miss the opening game though because I'll be airborn at the time! lol. Never the less I'll be ready for the first England game on Saturday.
will obviously be keeping fingers crossed for England but I'm thinking that it'll be someone from south America.
Rooney's currently doing better than expected and he has a scan on Wednesday so all will become clearer then as to how much of a part he will be able to play
I really hope that Rooney makes it back to take part in the tournament because frankly, Crouch aside, England look woefully short on fire power up front at the moment. I have to say that for me, the one minus point to take from the 6 nil thumping of Jamaica was Michael Owen's performance. Sven can make all the claimes he likes but that man is far from being fully fit. That isn't to say that he's actually carrying an injury any more, just that he looks as though he really is suffering from a lack of matches right now. He did get a goal I know, never the less he looked quite a long way off the pace and no where near his best. My one hope is that he can use the early stages of the tournament to get back into his stride!
For me England have to play with 2 men up front. Realistically, for the time being at least, those 2 have to be Owen and Crouch so let us hope hope hope that Owen gets going properly, and soon!
we won the world cup!!!! goodbye France... we are the champions of the world!!!!
